Our closing or delay will be announced or displayed as “NEWMEADOW SARATOGA SCHOOL.” We are in Saratoga County. As the children come from a wide area, school district actions do assist us in making our decision. When Newmeadow Saratoga School is open, in the case of those children coming from considerable distances, parents may need to make the decision whether or not to send your child if conditions are poor near home. In the event that road conditions become poor after the children have arrived at Newmeadow Saratoga School, we will most likely not dismiss early.
Hopefully, road crews can improve conditions during this time. In reference to general transportation of Newmeadow Saratoga School children, please be reminded that the transportation companies are independent of Newmeadow Saratoga School. We have indicated transporters should communicate directly with you as well as Newmeadow Saratoga School in the event of any problems. It is also appropriate for you to speak directly to these companies if you have questions.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY CHILD WILL BE ABSENT FROM SCHOOL?
- Notify the transporter and Program Secretary that your child is not coming to school.
- Absence excuses are required when your child returns to school, whether or not we have had previous notification by telephone.
- Contact the Program Secretary as soon as possible when your child has been diagnosed with a contagious condition.
- The school nurse will contact you if your child is absent and we have not heard from you.
